The Holocaust was a dark period in history, but it is also a story of survival, triumph, and love. This article tells the story of one survivor, Eva Schloss, and her journey from Auschwitz to a life of peace and happiness.

Eva's Story

Eva Schloss was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1929. Her father was a successful businessman, and her mother was a pianist. Eva had a happy childhood, but everything changed in 1938 when the Nazis annexed Austria. Eva's family was forced to flee to the Netherlands, where they lived in hiding for two years.

In 1942, Eva's family was discovered by the Nazis and sent to Auschwitz. Eva's father and brother were killed immediately, but Eva and her mother were selected for slave labor. Eva worked in a munitions factory, where she was constantly beaten and starved.

In 1945, Auschwitz was liberated by the Soviet Army. Eva and her mother were among the few survivors. After the war, Eva and her mother moved to England, where they started a new life.

A New Beginning

In England, Eva met and married Zvi Schloss, a fellow Holocaust survivor. Zvi had also lost his entire family in the Holocaust, but he was determined to build a new life with Eva.

Eva and Zvi had three children together. They raised their children in a loving home, and they taught them the importance of tolerance and understanding. Eva also became a public speaker, sharing her story with audiences around the world.

Eva's Legacy

Eva Schloss passed away in 2016 at the age of 87. She left behind a legacy of hope and love. Her story is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, the human spirit can triumph.

Eva's story is also a reminder of the importance of remembering the Holocaust. We must never forget the victims of this terrible tragedy, and we must always fight against intolerance and hatred.
